Casting my cares on him because he cares for me

Last night we had an amazing time at FAC. Pastor DJ Shoulders taught an amazing lesson on Worry. I realized that there are something’s that we have no control over and have no reason to worry. This lesson changed my thinking on a lot of different levels. Today I just want to share a few notes I took and scripture to read to help you deal with Worry.

1. Worry strangles, restricts, and Chokes us.
2. Waiting gives you time to worry
3. Worry (or Not trusting God) is what hinders are abilities

These are the scriptures I recommend you learn them, love them, and live them.
Philippians 4: 6Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. 7Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.

We should never worry about anything (it is in the book) instead we should pray about everything and ever situation. Worry is a spiritual alarm clock going off to tell us that it is time to pray. Instead of popping pills to deal with the things we can’t handle we should take the worry to the throne room of God.

The Opposite of Worry is Faith. The bible tells us to walk by faith. If you are walking by faith then you are saying that I believe God has everything under control.
When you say you are worried about losing your job. You are really saying that your job is your provider. God is your provider not you job, and if you are walking by faith what should you be saying. “I believe God has everything under control.”

So many times we build are hope in the wrong things: Jobs, Friends, Cars, Family, and House. We should build are hope in things that are unshakable Jesus Christ.
Worry is a control issue. People are obsessed with controlling things Worry indicates that we are not willing to let God take care of things his way and in his time.
Stop worrying and have Faith that God is going to take care of it. But on the other end don’t forget that Faith without works is dead. So Do what you can and let God do the Rest.

Scriptures to help you when you are worried

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity.[a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Proverbs 3 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
  and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Mark 11:20 - 24 20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”   22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 6:25 – 34  25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?   28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Philippians 4:6-8 6Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. 7Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.
