Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38)
There are many scriptures I could go to about Sowing and Reaping, but this is one of my favorite. One of the Principles I try to live by is. You will get out what you are willing to put in.
This Week we started a Tent Revival last night was the first night me and a few others have been working around the clock preparing for it the past few days. There is a lot of time, money, and hard work involved when it comes to a tent revival, but after the first night all the time, money, and work invested was worth it all.
I will not go into the long story of all the work that had to be done or the cost, but let’s just say several of us have lost sleep the past few days trying to get things together but boy was it worth it last night we had several come to the Alter for the first time and repent, one wanted to be baptized and we also had a former member come home. Also it was great to see everyone so pumped. For some reason when you get under a tent the Older Saint get loose. I love seeing Gods people full of Joy and excited about Church.
If you want to see a move of God, my question to you is are you investing in it? Sometimes we must go above and beyond what we think is a reasonable sacrifice. God is looking for people to invest time into the kingdom. So many people think that by giving financial they are doing their part. The bible says that God owns the cattle on a 1000 hills. His streets are made of Gold. He is looking for people to invest time into the Kingdom. Not just money. I want to encourage everyone to start investing more in the kingdom and watch what happens. Remember you will get out what you put in. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Memories
Well today has been a sad day for me. I have been thinking about the church a lot. Today is the Anniversary of the fire. Not a memory I enjoy at all but unfortunately one I have. I remember sitting at work when someone in the neighborhood called my work to get in touch with me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing “ Joseph your church is on fire hurry come quick” I flew down Ellington parkway to get there to find out that what I was praying to be a nightmare was really happen.
I have so many memories in that building I remember getting the Holy Ghost there, being baptized; the first time I ever preached was in that building. I grew up in that building it was more to me the just a place where we gather to worship on Sunday. It was also my pray closet during the week. When every thing was stressful I could go there to escape. When I walked in the doors it was like God just wrap his arms around me.
Are building may have not been the prettiest and we might have talked about the flaws all the time and talked about a new building a lot. But at least it was ours. Sometimes we take things for granted and don’t realize how blessed we are until we lose something. I would take that small building with all the problems any day over being homeless.

Today has been a good day, but it is fixing to get a lot better!!!
This morning I woke up tired as all ways Hoped in the Shower and drove off to work. I am the only one in the office from 6:00am – 9:00am so I take advantage of this time to meditate on God while I work. Sometimes I pray, sometimes I listen to music or preaching sometimes I listen to the bible.
So what has happened today to make it so good?
1. I woke up with someone on my mind I love when God puts someone on my mind because I know they really need something from God this morning Jara was on my mind. She has been sick the past few days and has been stressed out with everything going on. So I took a little time to pray for her. I hope she has a better day today.
2. After praying 99% of the time I like to read a scripture or 2 out of my bible. I don’t really have a certain way I choose what to read I just sort of flip around until something sticks out. Today I read Psalm 103:2-5 this really blessed me and lifted me up I decided to share it with my friends and family and now I am sharing it with you.
2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.3.
3. I got a chance to blog today. It has been a while since I have gotten a chance to blog and it really made me happy to blog.
4. I have been listening to Gospel at work for 2 days now. I normally listen to praise and worship but thought I would mix it up this week. Yesterday I thought I was going to have to stop working and take a praise break. I been listening to Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, Earnest Pugh, and several others.
5. In 1 hour and 20min. I will be off work and on my way to see Anna. Any day I get to see Anna is a good day in my book. I am so ready to get off and go.

Luke 14: 23 And the master told his servants, 'Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.
This scripture comes from one of my favorite parables called the Great Banquet. (Luke 14:12 – 24) and the reason I am blogging about this is because of Sunday afternoon I did one of my favorite things to do and that’s to hit the streets and compel the lost to come in.
We are having a Tent Revival next week and I will be preaching Friday night. I am really excited. This will be the first Tent Revival I have preached at. The Pastor really wants us to focus on the lost and the souls in the community. So we printed off some flyers and hit the streets to invite people.
I think everyone has there on way they like to pass out flyers. Some stick the flyers in doors, some just hand them to people, but I like to talk to the person and get to know them I want to leave an impression on them they might think I am crazy when I walk away, but my Goal is to not just invite them to church but that when I walk away they realize Jesus loves them and someone cares about their soul.
Out of all the times I have walked the streets to invite people one thing I notice is that people are hurting. They have no Hope, Joy, or Peace. I cannot think of one person who even smiles. Everyone is so sad and is about to cry. This world has so many weights on are fellow brothers and sisters and it is up to us to be there for them.
The majority of the people in our neighbor are struggling some are dealing with addictions. Many do not have jobs. Very few have cars. Many people would say we are wasting our time. But that because they don’t read what the word of God says “Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.”(Luke 14:21)
The Best investment you will ever make is to invest in someone that cannot help you in return. Reaching out to the poor crippled blind and lame will all ways cost you with finances and time, but my question to you is. Who do you want to bless you God or Man. Sure you could win a millionaire to your church and that millionaire could bless your church finances. But it is nothing like winning someone who has nothing and God blessing you.
Lord I just thank you for each and every Soul that you have place in my community. I ask that you use are church as a Hospital for the sick and hurting. Let us be a light house to our neighborhood. Do not let us be distracted by material things, but all ways focus on the needs of the people. Thank you for each and every person I had a chance to talk to on Sunday. I ask that you remind them of this Tent revival and Let this tent be filled as we prepare a feast for their Souls.

Psalm 23 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God is soooo GOOD!!! Last night after we got back from church Chase hugged me and could not stop smiling. All he could say was “my cup runneth over.” This morning/week/year has been amazing the only way I know to explain it is Joy unspeakable. God has blessed me so much; this year has been a year of restoration. I have had to opportunity to see several people return to the Lord this year.
It has almost been a year since Bro. Joe first step in the door @ CFC. I am so thankful for him he has inspired many of us as we watched him and stood by him on the road to restoration. I think seeing him serve the Lord has been one of the biggest things that has touched Caleb and Chase here lately. Bro. Joe was there youth leader when they were younger and I am sure they were devastated when he got out of church. I have tried to really reach them for years but felt like I was hitting a brick wall, but this year since Joe has gotten involved in the church I see a change in them I see them wanting to serve to Lord. Joe has only been teaching Sunday school for 2 or 3 weeks now I guess and he has a bigger Teen class then me and Paul ever had and I am loving it.
More of the youth is asking to go to the Youth services at other churches and they are getting connected with other youth groups. Back in Dec. when we had the Service @ Hope the few Teens I brought with me I really encourage them to get connected with the others there age. I encouraged them to add everyone on Facebook and to swap phone numbers with some of the other teens they meet there. The services we have on the weekends are great but these kids need more than just a powerful service on Friday night. They go to school 5 days a week and are faced with issues every day. They need more than just 1 service a week they need friends that are spirit filled that they can talk to and share with. They need to know that they are not alone. I knew back in Dec. if all of the youth groups could get connected then they could help each other and I am starting to see that in action. I know when I was a teen there was things that I dealt with that I could not tell my family or my pastor or youth leader and I depended on my friends. My problem was most of my friend were negatively impacting me. I did not have friends in the church and was steered in the wrong direction. My Prayer is that connecting some of these teens together they will have a chance to avoid making a few of the wrong turns I made.
I am so excited to see what God is doing. I cannot wait to see what is next.

Casting my cares on him because he cares for me
Last night we had an amazing time at FAC. Pastor DJ Shoulders taught an amazing lesson on Worry. I realized that there are something’s that we have no control over and have no reason to worry. This lesson changed my thinking on a lot of different levels. Today I just want to share a few notes I took and scripture to read to help you deal with Worry.
1. Worry strangles, restricts, and Chokes us.
2. Waiting gives you time to worry
3. Worry (or Not trusting God) is what hinders are abilities
These are the scriptures I recommend you learn them, love them, and live them.
Philippians 4: 6Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. 7Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.
We should never worry about anything (it is in the book) instead we should pray about everything and ever situation. Worry is a spiritual alarm clock going off to tell us that it is time to pray. Instead of popping pills to deal with the things we can’t handle we should take the worry to the throne room of God.
The Opposite of Worry is Faith. The bible tells us to walk by faith. If you are walking by faith then you are saying that I believe God has everything under control.
When you say you are worried about losing your job. You are really saying that your job is your provider. God is your provider not you job, and if you are walking by faith what should you be saying. “I believe God has everything under control.”
So many times we build are hope in the wrong things: Jobs, Friends, Cars, Family, and House. We should build are hope in things that are unshakable Jesus Christ.
Worry is a control issue. People are obsessed with controlling things Worry indicates that we are not willing to let God take care of things his way and in his time.
Stop worrying and have Faith that God is going to take care of it. But on the other end don’t forget that Faith without works is dead. So Do what you can and let God do the Rest.
Scriptures to help you when you are worried
Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity.[a] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Proverbs 3 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]
Mark 11:20 - 24 20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!” 22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Matthew 6:25 – 34 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Philippians 4:6-8 6Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. 7Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.

God is doing something new
Isaiah 43:18 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Today I can truly say I see God is working in new things. This year has been a life changer for me. God has opened my eyes so much and blessed me over and over again. It is easy sometimes to dwell on the past I find myself still doing it. I talk mostly about what all God was doing @ CFC before the fire. It seemed like we really were starting to get things rolling with the youth and the Sunday School program. We had new families every week.
Sometimes we can get so Wrap up in the past that we don’t see what God is doing right now. I have been busy talking about the things that hinder us by not having a building. When God has blessed us with a building that we are not taking full advantage of FAC has graciously opened there doors for us to use their church. Are old building held 75 people FAC holds 400. We were busting the doors down at max capacity every Sunday and God has now giving us growing room. We should not be sad it’s time to rejoice.
Bro. Sammy made a statement last month at the Men’s prayer meeting he told us that CFC is not handicapped. After that statement I felt like crap because I was convicted I may not have been one running around complaining to others all the time that we are handicapped but in my heart it was how I felt. Since the fire I cut back on outreach & Soul Winning. I put my Spiritual transmission into cost. I got on the “In the new building we will do…” band wagon.
Well I am done with dwelling in the past and it is time to put this transmission into overdrive and let me share with you what God has done this year and is doing.
1. We are still growing. This Sunday I was looking down on the congregation from the loft and counted 8 people who never stepped foot in are old building and we have at least 3 new families that attend are church regular. Since we have been at FAC.
2. God is still saving Souls. This Year alone I know we have baptized more people than the whole time I have been back in church and we have had a 3rd of the amount of services.
3. This year is the first year in 10 years that our church has taken a group to Camp. (woohoo!!!)
4. Jordan is at CFC now where she belongs J
5. Christopher received the Holy Ghost this year.
6. Rebekah is growing leaps and bounds there is an anointing on her life and I am excited to see how God is going to use her.
7. Sunday I got to watch God use Jara to minister to the youth. Sometimes I worry about that girl… but I wept as I watch God use her this past Sunday.
8. My Grandmother is Cancer free… IN YOUR FACE DEVIL!!!
9. Tomorrow we are having a back to school bash for the neighborhood and God is going to bless it. I walked the streets Sunday and talked to the Neighbors they are begging for a ride to church. I foresee a great bus ministry coming to CFC very soon.
10. God is not done with East Nashville and neither am I.

Where is the off switch???
Sleep is something I have been getting less and less each day. Every time I lay down for some reason I can’t turn my mind off. I know the past week at least 3 days I was laying in bed and thought I was dreaming but realized I was not even asleep. So what has been keeping me up? Souls I can’t stop thinking about the lost, and the hurting. This is something that should be on each of our minds. How can we go to church all the time and not feel convicted that we are not sharing God with are fellow friends, neighbors, classmates, and or Co-workers. Sometimes I think we can get so wrap up in church. That we forget that we are should be reaching out as well. My Goal for the rest of the year is to do everything I can to show Jesus Christ to the people I come in contact with. Not just invite them to church but to show them they can have a relationship with a savior. I am more concerned about kingdom building then I am church growth. If you want to see growth in your church gets concerned with kingdom growth. How do I plan on doing this? I have been thinking about home bible studies. A few months ago I had a home bible study with Fish. Fish had came to church several times over the past few years, but never made a move to God. I had a bible study with him on a Saturday and he decided that night he wanted a relationship with the Lord I had the honor to pray with him that night, baptize him that Sunday, and then preach his funeral the following week. Fish was diagnosed with cancer and died 1 week after finding out. I am here to tell you that just as Fish did not have long neither does this world. If I would have waited to have 1 week to do that bible study he would have never repented or been baptized. Serious People it is time to do more than just invite someone to church. It’s time to be the church. God forgive me where I have been slacking and give me the boldness to do more.

To Kiss or To Clave (Ruth ch. 1)
Ruth 1:14 And they lifted up their voices and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto he.
In Ruth chapter one we are introduced to a family from Bethlehem and Wife named Naomi her Husband named Elimelech and her two sons. Do to a famine they left Bethlehem and went to live in Moab. In Moab Naomi’s husband dies and her to sons married Moabite women named Orpah and Ruth. After about 10 years. The Sons Died leaving Naomi, Orpah, and Ruth. After the loss of her Sons she decide to go back to the land of Judah. She had heard that the Lord was providing food there. Then Naomi told her Daughter in laws to go back to there people, and that the that the Lord would show kindness on them. That there was no reason for them to stay with her that she would not be able to provide them with another husband. After Naomi tells them this Orpah kisses Naomi and Ruth Claves to here.
This is what I would like to share for the next few min. One Kisses her and the other Claves to her. First what is the difference?
To kiss- is to touch with lips to show love and or affection.
To clave- means to adhere or to cling, to stay attached.
Both of the women loved Naomi. Over the past 10 years they had got close to her and built a relationship with her. They had learned the same things over the past 10 years but when it came time to part there ways one went and one didn’t. WHY?
Ruth saw something in Naomi. Naomi was from Bethlehem and served the one True God. Ruth and Orpah were Moabites and served idols. Ruth got a taste of the real thing and wanted more.
Like Orpah some people only want to kiss the Truth or the way of God. They show affection to him but their mind is not made up to be steadfast. They have not determined to stick with him. They want to kiss him today and keep looking back at the past to determine which is the better choice.
The bible tells us to taste and see that the Lord is good but once the tasting is over once the kissing is over its time to grab a hold of the Lord and Cling to him.
We need to learn to be firm and unmovable. We must cling to God. No mater what happens to us good or bad we must be in moveable, inseparable. You got to put your whole heart in this. You cant keep kissing and looking back. If you are just kissing then you are getting satisfying yourself. You might love God but you have not given up the world yet.
I think the difference in Ruth and Orpah. Is that the things they had learned from Naomi Ruth put it in her heart, and Orpah didn’t. If you want to cling to something it will come from your heart.
Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Bless me Lord! Bless ME!! Lord!
Genesis 12:2 -3
2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.[a]
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.
The though of "Keep Walking" has been on my mind all week. I have talked about the Israelites Marching around the Walls of Jericho, and Peter walking on water. So this morning I began to read about Abrahams journey. He was know as a walker so I though it would benefit me to read it. Little did I know I would read the first 3 verses and have to stop to write this.
Gen. 2 and 3 talks about God Blessing Abraham he tells him he will make him into a great nation and will bless him. He will make his name great and Abraham will be a blessing. He will bless those who bless him and will curse those who curse him, and all the people on earth will be blessed through Abraham.
I don’t know about you but I would not mind this blessing and have prayed similar prayers for this. I can’t think of anyone who would not want this blessing. But lets go back to verse 1
Gen 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you
Before the Lord would be blessed Abram. He had something’s to do. He had to leave his country, leave his people, leave his fathers house. In order for Abram to be blessed he had to leave everything he knew. He had to get out of his comfort zone. This had to require some faith. I can’t imagine leaving everything I worked for, all his accomplishments. His whole life he had to left behind.
So many times we pray for God to bless us. Bless this, and bless that. We are really just asking for Gods stamp of approval on what we are currently doing. We want God to be apart of are plans and dreams when we should be asking him to allow us to be apart of his. Lord forgive me for being guilty of this. In order for Abram to get the blessing he had to become apart of Gods vision, Instead of asking God to be apart of his.

Walking On Water: Matthew 14:22-33
I admire Peter for his courage and faith. Many people talk about how he took his eyes off the Lord and started to sink. I can't knock him for that. how many times have I took my eyes off of God and started sinking with out ever getting out of the boat. We all face storms and battles in are life and we all know that God is bigger then any mountain that we can or can not see. But just because we know God is bigger and just because we know God is going to take care of everything doesn't mean we don't worry form time to time. It's the storms that we go though in life that makes us who we are. Just because he can move every mountain doesn't mean he should or will. He did not keep the hebrew children from the furnace, he did not keep daniel from the lions den, and he did not keep joseph out of prison. But one thing all these men did do was they kept walking no mater the storm they went through it. we need to stop asking God to stop the storm or to move the mountain. And just start climbing it in faith.
Now back to Peter one thing that caught my attention reading this is in verse 28 And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." (Matthew 14:28 ESV) Peter did not just hop out of the boat and take off on his on. He asked God first. Lord if that's you tell me to come. How many times have I hoped out of the boat when I saw something I thought was God and was what I should do and ended up falling flat on my face. Why did this happen because I did not seek God first and later found out God was not in it. I have friends today who are not serving the Lord any more because the so called job that the Lord blessed them with later found out was really a curse and God was not in it. Some times a simple prayer God is that you is all you need. The hard part is when he answer yes. Then it's on you to step out that boat.

Keep Walking...
Things I have learned lately about walking
Romans 6:4 - walk in newness of life
Romans 13:13 walk honestly
Romans 8:1 - do not walk according to the flesh
Galatians 5:16 & 25 - Walk in the Spirit
Psalms1:1 - Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly
Ps. 86:11 walk in thy truth
Col. 4:5 Walk in wisdom
2 Cor. 5:7 walk by faith not by sight
Ephesians 5:2 walk in love
Pastor Shoulders a month or 2 ago talked about the Israelites marched around the walls 6 days prior to the walls falling on the seventh at Jericho. They did not complain or even speak for those 6 days. All they did was walk in obedience. Some times I what to ask God why? When I really need to just be obedient. I use to hate when you ask parents why? And they answer because I said so. God forgive me for every question you. I may not know Why, Where, or for How Long, but starting today let me be more obedient and not ask questions you are the Author of my life not me and you know what you are doing. Let me walk by Faith and not by sight and let me keep walking because on the 7th day you make all things complete.

Busy week...
Well it has been a few days since I posted anything… This week has been a very busy week and I just really feel lead to share what all has been going on. I am hoping to get back to the Timothy Series I started to work on soon.
Friday 5/13/11 – Tuesday 5/17/11
Well it all started last Friday. Fish past away I am starting to tear up thinking about it. I miss him so much. I never really knew how big of an impact he was in my life. I want to encourage everyone do not take your friends and family for granted. You never know when you might lose them. I am so thankful that before he died I was able to tell him about a man named Jesus that died so he could live. I was able to pray with him while he repented and was able to baptize him the Sunday before he pasted. I know that he was @ peace once he came out of the water.
This Tuesday we buried him and it was my first funeral service. It is really hard to preach a funeral to someone you loved so much, but it was also a big honor to speak about a man that I loved so much. Fish was much more than a friend. He was a friend, a father, a grandfather, and many more things. He was always there no matter what it blows my mind that the whole time he was taking my grandmother to get her Chemo treatments he was eat up with cancer and did not even know it. I love you Fish and I miss you, but I think God that you were submissive to his word.
Wednesday 5/18/11
Wednesday night I had the opportunity to go to church and pass out flyers for a Youth event that happened last night I will get to it soon… I love passing out flyers and being a light to a lost world. I thank God each and every time I get the opportunity to preach in a church, but there is nothing like witnessing one on one and working the streets. I have always felt that the church stays in the 4 walls way too much. We should always be reaching out and being a beacon of Hope to a lost and dyeing world. Several things Happened Wednesday that I will never forget… 1 was the feeling I always get when doing outreach. 2. Was watching the younger ones work the streets. God is rising up a generation that is fixing to turn this world upside down. 3. I was able to be with a very, very, special girl J
Thursday 5/19/11
Thursday afternoon I had the opportunity to go the Strawberry festival. The Links did Praise and Worship there. I love listen to the Links there is nothing like the Anointing It does not matter how good someone is at singing or playing an instrument if they don’t have the anointing they are useless. The scripture comes to my memory. That it’s the Anointing that breaks the yokes and them girls defiantly got it. Plus I got to hang out with Anna after the singingJ
Friday 5/20/11
And then there was Friday. I have been praying about Friday for a month now. You ever get the feeling that you just know something good is about to happen. I have had it for a month. I don’t think I have ever prayed more for an upcoming service then I have for this one and I was not even the one preaching. I knew God was going to do something special and he did. 1st off he packed the church out. These Youth services are getting bigger and bigger. I am so honored to be a part of them. 2nd the Worship ushered in the Spirit of the Lord. Which allowed us to clear are minds and focus on the word of the Lord Bro. Josh really hit home on several of us. He spoke on resisting the Holy Ghost and several had been resisting. I had the opportunity to pray with my cousin Dillon and God filled him with the Holy Ghost. (FYI Phillip your next buddy) Dillon was on cloud nine the whole way home. He said he wants to be baptized Sunday.
So now today is Saturday and I am sitting at work totally exhausted from this week. Waller and I @ work joke all the time and say that Saturday is the day we come to work and reflect back over what we accomplished this past week. So I am sitting here reflecting over how great God is. I am truly blessed. To have so many great friends and one of the best families in the world. I love you all and I’m so excited to see what God is going to do next week. I have decided to let God lead and me just follow it seems to work a lot better that way.

Pray, Pray, and Pray some more (1 Timothy chapter 2 part 1)
In this chapter of Timothy Paul challenges us again. He tells us to pray, more than that he tells us to intercede.
Intercession is a big deal in my life. I will try not to get too much off the topic but this is something I just can't skip. I know it was the intercession of the Saints of God that pulled me to an altar of repentance. Intercessory prayer i s one of the most under looked and needed ministry in the church, just as Abraham stood in the gap for Sodom. This world we live in needs someone to stand in the gap now. So many mistake Intercession as being between the enemy and the need. This is incorrect. Intercession is stand between the need and the Way maker.
So who should we intercede for? Everyone! We should be in intercession 4 are government leaders, churches, friends, family, the lost, the sick, and the unborn (you are there only voice).
“Well I don't like are leaders and government. “You say. Well Samuel said, "God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: (1 Samuel 12:23). In this text Samuel is referring to the king Saul. Also this statement was made after Samuel had anointed David as the next king. So even though Samuel knew Saul was not doing right and was not going to be the king much longer he still prayed for him.
In 1 Thessalonians 5 the word tells us to pray without ceasing. The older saints use to say “pray until you pray through" you don't hear this saying anymore, but it is way past time to bring it back it is time to have some tarring services once again.
This world has no Hope you say? Why Pray? Well 2 Chronicles 7:14 says if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and Pray and seek my face turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.
Call me crazy if you want but I wonder how many times God has said enough is enough and was going to end this thing, but some little grandma was on her face seeking his face for a lost child or grandchild. Don't you give up on this world yet, don't you give up on your lost love one. It isn’t over until God says it's over. My pray is for revival to hit this city, state, country, and world. So let’s start praying.
Part 2 Men.... Be a Man!
Ok hear is where people want to go to start women bashing. The 2nd part of this chapter tells us what women can't do... Or does it? When I read this it tells me that as a man I have responsibility. I should be the head of the house. This does not mean to make your wife a slave. It means you should be an example for your wife and children. Men we should be praying everywhere and lifting up holy hands. Many believe that they are to macho to praise the Lord to shout and dance, to weep at the altar. Men! That is the stuff that makes you a man that makes you the leader of your family. You get mad because your spouse is not submissive to you! But my question is, are you being submissive to God? Be a leader for your house hold not a slave driver.

1 Timothy chapter 1 (We are saved by Love not Law)
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This scripture lets us know that it was God’s love that saves us not the law. In 1 Timothy chapter 1 Paul tells Timothy to stay in Ephesus and don't let others preach false doctrines. He tells Timothy that the real message is simple its love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith.
In Revelations chapter 2 we find that the church of Ephesus were hard workers, steadfast and stood up for the law. But the one thing that God had against them was they lost their first love. Sometimes I believe we can turn church into a routine we go because that's what we do. We don't sin because that's what we do. It's not because we love God and want 2 please him it's because that's how we have been raised. We that abide to the law and are sinless easily forgets about the love of Christ we think it makes us better than others and we find are self’s Condemning others that are not abiding to the law. I am not saying I am against the law but the way you address the issues with people you can easily condemn instead of convict. We forget that all have sin and falling short. Paul reminds us in 1 Timothy that he was one of the biggest persecutors of the church but God gave him mercy and grace and if God’s Mercy and grace will cover Paul it can cover all. God completely changed his life around. No matter how deep into sin you or someone is in there is still hope.
While there is a time and place to teach the law, it’s the message of love, grace, mercy, hope, and faith that will save them using the law to condemn is not the message. Let love convict them. Remember you can attract more flies with honey then you can vinegar. So preach the word. Let everyone know Jesus loves them and died for their sins too.

Who is Timothy and Why Timothy?
Well before we get into 1st Timothy let's talk about Timothy a little.
Timothy was a young minister that sat under the apostle Paul. Acts 16 is were Paul first meets Timothy and Timothy begins to follow him from there. Several times in the new testament Paul refers to Timothy as his son. Timothy and Paul were very close I admire there relationship. As a young minister you should have the same relationship with your Pastor as Timothy and Paul has. You must be submissive to the man of God. Timothy did all things that Paul asked and did it with out questioning or complaining. When ever Paul said go he went. When Paul told him to stay he stayed. Remember your ministry is not about you it's about Jesus Christ. I know you want to hit the streets running but you need someone to lead and guide you. I encourage all who read this to find your self a Pastor that loves you and will support you as Paul did Timothy. Allow him to pour out what God has giving him into you. Support him in all things Be his Armor Barrier and remember. Before you can lead you must first learn to follow.
I am So Thankful for my Pastor.

I am So Thankful for my Pastor.
Here I am
I am not much of a writer but I would like to get better @ writing my thoughts and ideas so here I am writing this today. First off a little about me I am 25 years old and in love with Jesus. I am the youth leader @ Christ Family Church. My priorities are God, Family,Church, and Souls. My ministry is not about me it's all about Jesus. I do not want any credit for what God uses me for in fact my Goal is not that the people remember my name but that they fall in love with Jesus and establish a relationship with him that they will never forget. This was not always the case for many years I was a very bitter person I was black hearted and did not care for people it was always whats in it for me. In December of 2004 my life was completely changed. I am sure over time I will share what God has brought me through on this blog and what he is still bringing me threw today. I don't believe my testimony will be finished until I take my last breath.
My goals for this blog is to each day (or as often as i can) published my personal study notes and talk about what God has been dealing with me about. I am going to start with what I feel is the 2 most important books in the bible for rising leaders in the church. 1 & 2 timothy. There is so much instruction giving to us in these 2 books. I pray that you receive something from it.
