Busy week...

Well it has been a few days since I posted anything… This week has been a very busy week and I just really feel lead to share what all has been going on. I am hoping to get back to the Timothy Series  I started to work on soon.

Friday 5/13/11 – Tuesday 5/17/11

Well it all started last Friday. Fish past away I am starting to tear up thinking about it. I miss him so much. I never really knew how big of an impact he was in my life. I want to encourage everyone do not take your friends and family for granted. You never know when you might lose them. I am so thankful that before he died I was able to tell him about a man named Jesus that died so he could live. I was able to pray with him while he repented and was able to baptize him the Sunday before he pasted. I know that he was @ peace once he came out of the water.

This Tuesday we buried him and it was my first funeral service. It is really hard to preach a funeral to someone you loved so much, but it was also a big honor to speak about a man that I loved so much. Fish was much more than a friend. He was a friend, a father, a grandfather, and many more things. He was always there no matter what it blows my mind that the whole time he was taking my grandmother to get her Chemo treatments he was eat up with cancer and did not even know it. I love you Fish and I miss you, but I think God that you were submissive to his word.

Wednesday 5/18/11

Wednesday night I had the opportunity to go to church and pass out flyers for a Youth event that happened last night I will get to it soon… I love passing out flyers and being a light to a lost world. I thank God each and every time I get the opportunity to preach in a church, but there is nothing like witnessing one on one and working the streets. I have always felt that the church stays in the 4 walls way too much. We should always be reaching out and being a beacon of Hope to a lost and dyeing world. Several things Happened Wednesday that I will never forget… 1 was the feeling I always get when doing outreach. 2. Was watching the younger ones work the streets. God is rising up a generation that is fixing to turn this world upside down. 3. I was able to be with a very, very, special girl J

Thursday 5/19/11

Thursday afternoon I had the opportunity to go the Strawberry festival. The Links did Praise and Worship there.  I love listen to the Links there is nothing like the Anointing It does not matter how good someone is at singing or playing an instrument if they don’t have the anointing they are useless. The scripture comes to my memory. That it’s the Anointing that breaks the yokes and them girls defiantly got it. Plus I got to hang out with Anna after the singingJ

Friday 5/20/11

And then there was Friday. I have been praying about Friday for a month now. You ever get the feeling that you just know something good is about to happen. I have had it for a month. I don’t think I have ever prayed more for an upcoming service then I have for this one and I was not even the one preaching.  I knew God was going to do something special and he did. 1st off he packed the church out. These Youth services are getting bigger and bigger. I am so honored to be a part of them. 2nd the Worship ushered in the Spirit of the Lord. Which allowed us to clear are minds and focus on the word of the Lord Bro. Josh really hit home on several of us. He spoke on resisting the Holy Ghost and several had been resisting. I had the opportunity to pray with my cousin Dillon and God filled him with the Holy Ghost. (FYI Phillip your next buddy) Dillon was on cloud nine the whole way home. He said he wants to be baptized Sunday.

So now today is Saturday and I am sitting at work totally exhausted from this week. Waller and I @ work joke all the time and say that Saturday is the day we come to work and reflect back over what we accomplished this past week. So I am sitting here reflecting over how great God is. I am truly blessed. To have so many great friends and one of the best families in the world. I love you all and I’m so excited to see what God is going to do next week. I have decided to let God lead and me just follow it seems to work a lot better that way.

Pray, Pray, and Pray some more (1 Timothy chapter 2 part 1)

In this chapter of Timothy Paul challenges us again. He tells us to pray, more than that he tells us to intercede.
Intercession is a big deal in my life. I will try not to get too much off the topic but this is something I just can't skip. I know it was the intercession of the Saints of God that pulled me to an altar of repentance. Intercessory prayer i s one of the most under looked and needed ministry in the church, just as Abraham stood in the gap for Sodom. This world we live in needs someone to stand in the gap now. So many mistake Intercession as being between the enemy and the need. This is incorrect. Intercession is stand between the need and the Way maker.

So who should we intercede for? Everyone!  We should be in intercession 4 are government leaders, churches, friends, family, the lost, the sick, and the unborn (you are there only voice).
“Well I don't like are leaders and government. “You say. Well Samuel said, "God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: (1 Samuel 12:23). In this text Samuel is referring to the king Saul. Also this statement was made after Samuel had anointed David as the next king. So even though Samuel knew Saul was not doing right and was not going to be the king much longer he still prayed for him.
In 1 Thessalonians 5 the word tells us to pray without ceasing. The older saints use to say “pray until you pray through" you don't hear this saying anymore, but it is way past time to bring it back it is time to have some tarring services once again.
This world has no Hope you say? Why Pray?  Well 2 Chronicles 7:14 says if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and Pray and seek my face  turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.
Call me crazy if you want but I wonder how many times God has said enough is enough and was going to end this thing, but some little grandma was on her face seeking his face for a lost child or grandchild. Don't you give up on this world yet, don't you give up on your lost love one.  It isn’t over until God says it's over. My pray is for revival to hit this city, state, country, and world. So let’s start praying.

Part 2 Men.... Be a Man!
Ok hear is where people want to go to start women bashing. The 2nd part of this chapter tells us what women can't do... Or does it? When I read this it tells me that as a man I have responsibility. I should be the head of the house. This does not mean to make your wife a slave. It means you should be an example for your wife and children. Men we should be praying everywhere and lifting up holy hands. Many believe that they are to macho to praise the Lord to shout and dance, to weep at the altar. Men! That is the stuff that makes you a man that makes you the leader of your family. You get mad because your spouse is not submissive to you! But my question is, are you being submissive to God? Be a leader for your house hold not a slave driver.

1 Timothy chapter 1 (We are saved by Love not Law)

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This scripture lets us know that it was God’s love that saves us not the law. In 1 Timothy chapter 1 Paul tells Timothy to stay in Ephesus and don't let others preach false doctrines. He tells Timothy that the real message is simple its love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith.

In Revelations chapter 2 we find that the church of Ephesus were hard workers, steadfast and stood up for the law. But the one thing that God had against them was they lost their first love. Sometimes I believe we can turn church into a routine we go because that's what we do. We don't sin because that's what we do. It's not because we love God and want 2 please him it's because that's how we have been raised. We that abide to the law and are sinless easily forgets about the love of Christ  we think it makes us better than others and we find are self’s Condemning others that are not abiding to the law. I am not saying I am against the law but the way you address the issues with people you can easily condemn instead of convict. We forget that all have sin and falling short. Paul reminds us in 1 Timothy that he was one of the biggest persecutors of the church but God gave him mercy and grace and if God’s Mercy and grace will cover Paul it can cover all. God completely changed his life around. No matter how deep into sin you or someone is in there is still hope.

While there is a time and place to teach the law, it’s the message of love, grace, mercy, hope, and faith that will save them using the law to condemn is not the message. Let love convict them.  Remember you can attract more flies with honey then you can vinegar. So preach the word. Let everyone know Jesus loves them and died for their sins too.

Who is Timothy and Why Timothy?

Well before we get into 1st Timothy let's talk about Timothy a little.

Timothy was a young minister that sat under the apostle Paul. Acts 16 is were Paul first meets Timothy and Timothy begins to follow him from there. Several times in the new testament Paul refers to Timothy as his son. Timothy and Paul were very close I admire there relationship. As a young minister you should have the same relationship with your Pastor as Timothy and Paul has. You must be submissive to the man of God. Timothy did all things that Paul asked and did it with out questioning or complaining. When ever Paul said go he went. When Paul told him to stay he stayed. Remember your ministry is not about you it's about Jesus Christ. I know you want to hit the streets running but you need someone to lead and guide you. I encourage all who read this to find your self a Pastor that loves you and will support you as Paul did Timothy. Allow him to pour out what God has giving him into you. Support him in all things Be his Armor Barrier and remember. Before you can lead you must first learn to follow.
I am So Thankful for my Pastor.

Here I am

I am not much of a writer but I would like to get better @ writing my thoughts and ideas so here I am writing this today. First off a little about me I am 25 years old and in love with Jesus. I am  the youth leader @ Christ Family Church. My priorities are God, Family,Church, and Souls. My ministry is not about me it's all about Jesus. I do not want any credit for what God uses me for in fact my Goal is not that the people remember my name but that they fall in love with Jesus and establish a relationship with him that they will never forget. This was not always the case for many years I was a very bitter person I was black hearted and did not care for people it was always whats in it for me. In December of 2004 my life was completely changed. I am sure over time I will share what God has brought me through on this blog and what he is still bringing me threw today. I don't believe my testimony will be finished until I take my last breath.
My goals for this blog is to each day (or as often as i can) published my personal study notes and talk about what God has been dealing with me about. I am going to start with what I feel is the 2 most important books in the bible for rising leaders in the church. 1 & 2 timothy. There is so much instruction giving to us in these 2 books. I pray that you receive something from it.
